This instrument cluster is a very common problem for the Audi A3, which was developed between 1998 and 2003. Common symptoms of a failed instrument cluster include: inaccurate reading of the fuel and/or temperature gauge, full instrument flickering or shaking when turned on, and complete failure to illuminate. This speedo has also been known to cause the battery to drain.
